Up-to-date

HI

It's SATURDAY and I slept for a long time last night. Why? YESTERDAY WAS HELL IS WHY.

I had to be at work at 8 a.m. like usual, but I was extra sleepy and had to keep sneaking little 45 second naps when no one else was looking, and it was frustrating and made me not enjoy my job, but for some reason my body is incapable of staying awake even when the context is frenzied and you'd think the social pressure of looking good at a job I just started and need to survive would be enough to override my sleepiness secretions. Nope. It's like at school when even though I knew I would be tested on something I couldn't stay awake and would get a C for the class even though I was good at the subject because if it's before noon I cannot stay awake ever. I am a very sleepy person, I don't know why.

After work I went to a coffee shop in Anděl called Kava Kava Kava for 45 minutes and drank a delicious dark beer called Kelt and read Infinite Jest and then went to the offices of Provokator at 14:00 to work on copy-editing the final draft of the magazine for what I thought would be an hour, but turned out to be much longer than that. I was planning on going to Vaclavske Namesti (Wenceslas Square) by 16:00 to pick up my 2500 Kč for working at Roberts Publishing and then head home BUT as I was leaving Provokator I was asked to come back, then when I got back I was asked to stay to help, which ended up being until like 22:00 because turns out no one who was there knows how to use Adobe InDesign so I had to do it all BUT I had to WAIT to do it all until one of the co-founders was done reading through and noting down all the corrections that she needed to make BUT it was MYSELF who had to actually make the corrections because she didn't feel comfortable using InDesign for fear of fundamentally messing something up OH MY GOD. It was terrifyingly boring, but I did use the significant amounts of dead time I had to read the transcript of the vice-presidential debate. Can I call you Joe?

So that's the part of my life I feel comfortable talking about publicly. Who knows what will happen to me this weekend?

p.s. Chris did the dishes +1 for him

here's how I'm lying right now:

Suckers!

Haha, they didn't know Indesign. I will therefore feel superior to *everyone* in Prague (minus you).
